Cookies & Similar Technologies

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This page explains the cookies, browser storage and similar technologies Slota uses or may cause to be used when you visit or use the platform.

1. What these technologies are

Cookies are small pieces of information stored on a device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, IndexedDB and other methods that store or access information on a browser or device. UK rules can apply to these technologies as well as traditional cookies.

2. What Slota currently uses them for

Slota uses storage/access technologies for functions needed to provide the service, including authentication and session persistence, security, remembering interface preferences, and preserving information needed to complete or manage booking workflows.

Examples visible in the current Slota application include saved light/dark theme preferences and locally remembered booking/customer details intended to make a later booking easier. Firebase authentication may also use browser storage to maintain signed-in state.

3. Strictly necessary storage

Technology that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you request, transmit communications, maintain authentication or protect the service may be used without asking for optional-cookie consent where the law permits. We still explain that use here for transparency.

Blocking or deleting essential storage may sign you out, remove saved preferences, clear locally remembered booking details or prevent parts of Slota from working correctly.

4. Payments and Stripe

Where payment functionality is loaded, Slota uses Stripe technology to provide secure payment or account-onboarding features. Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies for payment security, fraud prevention, authentication and operation of its payment services. Those technologies are controlled in accordance with Stripe's own legal responsibilities as well as the configuration of the Slota integration.

5. Google Analytics and optional analytics storage

Slota uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people find and use the website, including page visits, approximate acquisition source, device/browser information, general location derived from network information, new and returning users, engagement and events such as account sign-up, login, contact enquiries and completed bookings where those events are configured.

Google Analytics is treated as optional on Slota. Analytics does not load for a visitor unless they select Accept analytics. If they reject analytics, Slota records that preference and does not load the GA4 tag for normal browsing. We do not use this consent for advertising storage, ad personalisation or personalised advertising.

Your analytics choice is stored in the slota_analytics_consent cookie for up to one year so we can remember whether analytics may be loaded. You can remove that cookie using your browser/site-data controls, which causes Slota to ask for your choice again.

Google may process analytics information on our behalf in accordance with its own terms and privacy documentation. Analytics reports are aggregated and used to understand and improve Slota, measure marketing effectiveness and monitor website performance.

6. Browser storage rather than cookies

Some Slota preferences are stored using browser local storage rather than a traditional cookie. The legal rules concerning storage/access technologies can still apply, so references to “cookies” in common website language should be understood to include similar browser-storage methods where appropriate.

7. How long information remains on your device

Some storage lasts only for a session; other storage persists until it expires, is replaced, you sign out, the application removes it, or you clear site data in your browser. Authentication providers may determine the duration of authentication-related storage. Slota keeps persistent browser storage only where it supports an intended feature or preference and reviews its use as the platform changes.

8. Your choices

You can accept or reject Google Analytics below and change that choice at any time. Rejecting analytics does not stop you using Slota. You can also use your browser controls to inspect, delete or block cookies and site storage; doing so may remove saved Slota preferences and sign-in state.

Your current analytics choice: Not chosen

9. Third-party content and services

Features supplied by third parties may use their own storage/access technologies when those features are loaded. Slota seeks to limit third-party technology to what is appropriate for the feature being provided. The relevant third party may also provide its own privacy or cookie information.

10. Changes to this information

We will update this page when the technologies Slota uses materially change. We also review cookie and similar-technology use as new features and providers are introduced.

11. Contact
